History of the route
Built during Sila's tourism boom, the road reopened access to peaks and pastures once reached only on foot or by mule. Today it attracts hikers, cyclists and motorists.

How to experience it
Driveable by car with care, ideally by bike on wider stretches, or on foot on side trails. Spring and autumn offer soft light; winter snow and ice require proper equipment.
